The number of lives she touched is unknown. Her funeral was literally standing room only. She was mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. As a terminally ill cancer patient, Lois spoke to medical students telling them what it was like to be terminally ill. She had courage, faith and love. At her funeral, Father Leo Alard christened her one of God's Saints. Few of us know the pain she lived with during her struggle against ovarian cancer, for she showed only courage. Never asking "why me, God?" Those of us who knew her, were blessed by her presence. She lives on in each us, not only in memory, but in our deeds. Mom's Halo began as a memorial to my mother, Lois Ellen Miller. When I started the site back in 1998 I had no idea that there were so many other people out there who were like me - searching for some sort of help and healing after the loss their mother. Slowly I began to add more content and information to the site. The forums were first followed by some helpful articles and inspirtational poetry. Today it has evolved into a website full of information and help for those who have lost their mother. The one that Mom's Halo will always be is a place where anyone who has suffered the loss of the mother can come and find peace, hope and healing. It is my sincere hope that you will find comfort here. While I have no magic words to erase the pain and grief that you are feeling, I can offer some support and hope right here - under Mom's Halo.
