In this episode, Jaymee Chanen talks about her mom and what it was like to grow up from the age of 15 without her mom's physical presence. Jaymee is the author of "Ruby Slippers, Finding Your Way Home From Emotional Abuse," a book of poems that are powerful and full of emotion as she guides the reader through her journey of healing after a very difficult time in her life. Through her writing Jaymee has become an advocate for journaling as a form of therapy. She often gives workshops on journaling at local women shelters. In the beginning of her book she offers a wonderful guide on journaling as a tool for self-help. In the podcast interview, Jaymee also talks about journaling as well and how it can be an effective form of therapy and emotional healing.
